What is Reiki and what are its benefits?

Reiki is the Japanese word meaning “universal life force energy.”  This healing energy comes from the Universe not directly from the Reiki Healer.  Our purpose as healers is to be the means on Earth for the universal energy to enter our world.  Reiki can and is used by Reiki Healers on ourselves first, and then channeled by us for others.  This energy system is foolproof and cannot be used for anything negative and relies on the intent of the giver and receiver.  This “laying on of hands” technique is simple, yet powerful.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

All energy workers use Ki or life force, but not all use Reiki.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki benefits include that it has been effective in helping anyone with any illness, stress, and malady. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.  Strong emotions may be realized during a treatment and as Reiki Healers we connect you with your guides and Chakras to promote this healing energy.  While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma.
